I just recently started a book called “You’re Made for a God-Sized Dream” by Holley Gerth. As the title implies, it helps you discover the dreams that God has placed in your heart and going after them trusting that He will provide a way for you to reach them if you just trust in Him. I don’t think that many people know that one my biggest dreams is to be an author. I didn’t choose to be a journalism major in college so I had given up hope of ever chasing my dream. However, this book has given me courage to start this blog and see where God leads me. I have learned that when I trust in Him, He opens doors that no one can open and close doors that no one can close. 🙂
I started a new job a few weeks ago and like any new job, it was kind of overwhelming. On one particular day I was trying to ring up a customer and take a call and felt like I was doing a horrible job. After I took the call I turned around and my dad was standing there. I was so embarrassed that he had seen me struggling the past few minutes. He just said that he stopped by to tell me hey and that he would call me later because he could see that I was busy. A few days later he told me that he was very proud of how I handled a new and difficult situation. This was so nice to hear! I had spent the last few days believing that my dad must have thought I was a failure because I didn’t look like I had it all together at my new job! Isn’t that how we are with our walk with Christ too? We try to have it together every minute of every day but that’s impossible. Even when we are in the midst of juggling our everyday messes and wonder if we are even making a difference, God is right there cheering us on and proud that we are making progress! Don’t beat yourself up. Your best really is enough! God will take care of the rest!
